Every form of movement develops a sense of self and a self-concept of the children. Through movements the children will recognise their own body structure as well as develop a gender identity. The gross and fine motor skills are divided into movements that are coordinative challenging (f.e. hand-eye coordination) or are performed with the whole body.

    Fine motor skills are all about the coordination of small muscle movements mostly in body parts, such as the fingers, usually in coordination with the eyes. The main goal is to prepare children for writing.
